I took steps to secure my family's financial future with Suryoday Foundation. I enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana (PMJJY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) through Suryoday Bank. I opened Recurring Deposit Account of Rs. 1,000 per month and invested Rs. 20,000 in a Fixed Deposit. Today, my role has grown from being a hardworking domestic worker to a trusted Community Trainer supporting women in my neighborhood. I also helping other women in my community become more aware, connected and financially secure.

With Suryoday Foundation's guidance, I have enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY). I have started a Recurring Deposit, setting aside a small amount regularly towards my son's education and future needs. These small but important steps have brought a sense of confidence and hope to me. Knowing that I have insurance protection and have started building savings gives me greater reassurance about the future.

I live in Rabale, Navi Mumbai. Due to my family’s difficult economic circumstances, she was unable to pursue formal education. When I learned that Suryoday Foundation was supporting domestic workers in accessing financial services and social security benefits, I reached out to the team. They opened a Recurring Deposit account and a Sukanya Samriddhi account for my daughter’s future. I enrolled myself under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) to secure my family against uncertainties.

I struggled to save money. Post meeting members of Suryoday Foundation, I learned more about savings and was encouraged to take salary in my bank account and avoid cash. I started Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. I opened Recurring Deposit by opting for auto debit facility. This facility ensures that I save every month. Suryoday Foundation also helped me to get my Domestic Workers Card. Now, I encourage others to save.

I cannot read and write, and I didn’t have a bank account. After attending the training for domestic workers by Suryoday Foundation and understanding benefit of taking salary in bank, I decided to open a bank account. My multiple interactions with Suryoday Foundation gave me confidence to sign for the first time on the domestic worker application form. Now I have a bank account, I take salary in bank and have taken insurance too.

I was never able to save properly and left with no money by the end of the month. After my interactions with Suryoday Foundation, I started taking my salary in my bank account this helped in building saving. My husband works as sweeper and together we managed to save about Rs 1 Lakh. I plan to open a fixed deposit as I learnt that I would get more interest and will not be tempted to do unnecessary expenses.

I knew that savings was important, but I never took it seriously until I got assistance from Suryoday Foundation. I spoke to my employer and started taking salary in bank. I availed Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. I opened Sukanya Samriddhi yojana account for my daughter and opened a Recurring Deposit with auto debit. Thanks to Suryoday Foundation my domestic worker card registration is in process now.

I am a widow and a sole bread earner. I attended financial literacy program and often came to the Adhira Community Center and met Suryoday Foundation field executives. With their assistance my KYC was done. I opened my first bank account, also availed PMSBY & PMJJBY. I opened a recurring deposit. Today I feel if only someone would have guided me earlier regarding this then I would have saved much more.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducted Financial Literacy quiz competition on 14th July 2023 across 50+ government schools in Puducherry. We participated and won the state level competition. We were awarded with a cash prize of 25,000. We were also honoured in Chennai along with our families for our achievements. We are participants of Suryoday Foundation Financial Literacy Program. Suryoday Foundation also helped us with some preparatory material for the competition. They are proud of their achievement. We hope many more students build their financial literacy with Suryoday Foundation, just like us.

I work as a daily wage earner and fish seller. I am sole earner in my family. My husband does not do any work. I aspire that my son who is currently studying in class 11th, studies further and leads a better life. After attending financial literacy training for parents, I opened Recurring Deposit account with the hope that this saving shall be used for my son's education.

I attended the Menstrual Health and Hygiene session that was organized in the community by Suryoday Foundation in collaboration with Utkal hospital. After listening to initial part of the session I immediately went home and got my daughter to attend the session. My 19-year-old daughter was facing menstrual issues. My daughter was given prescriptions and guidance for further check-ups and care to be taken. These sessions give opportunity for women and young girls to speak out openly and discuss their concerns.
